What Your Favourite Wine Says About You

September 2026

Are you a fan of “visiting wine country” every now and then? Do you always gravitate towards the same type of wine when out with friends, or at home after a long day? Guess what: your personality might have something to do with that.

1. Cabernet Sauvignon

You drink it because it's the only wine you can confidently pronounce. But seriously: you are probably very classy, with a love for learning and exploring the world around you. Once you've convinced yourself that something is good and classy, you will keep trying it until you like it, be it perfume, fish or hand lotion, which probably explains why your favourite wine is a Cabernet.

2. Chardonnay

You're turning into your mother. On a serious note: you are probably passionate, stylish and ooze confidence, with a big and wonderfully “loud” personality. You enjoy the security and comfort of always opting for the familiar: the same brand of perfume for ten years, and always the same meal at your favourite restaurant. You like to lead, and you probably tell epic and entertaining stories at parties.

3. Rosé

You are under 21, or you want to look like it. But seriously: you are probably flirty and fun, with a great sense of humour. You're the type of person who likes to show everyone around you that you don't live in a red-and-white world.

4. Merlot

You eat your steaks mostly still alive. But seriously: you are probably laid-back, adaptable and like to go with the flow. You enjoy conversation, and you're probably very easy to get along with.

5. Sauvignon Blanc

You're classy, sophisticated, and you enjoy complex conversations. You like to be in charge and superior in everything you do. You find loud people unsettling and somewhat distasteful, and if an opinion has to be shared, it has to be yours.

6. Malbec

You're that moneyed but “we'll eat at home” type. On a serious note: you probably prefer to relax with a book rather than go out. You enjoy long and meaningful conversations, and like to connect with people at a deep and soulful level. You enjoy getting caught up in detail at a deep, philosophical level, which often leaves people questioning their existence and contemplating their life choices.
